About the role
Coffman Engineers is seeking a Structural Engineer (five to ten years of experience) for employment in our Spokane office. Our primary marketplaces are Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with other potential opportunities across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee structural analysis and design
- Coordinate with project stakeholders
- Manage schedules and budgets
- Oversee project drawing production in AutoCAD and Revit
- Implement new tools and methods
- Support construction coordination
- Aid in proposal and business development
Requirements
- Experience with computer analysis software systems
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable consulting to architectural and industrial practices
- Ability to build and maintain a strong team of professionals and support staff within a cooperative multidiscipline office performing at a high level of satisfaction to clients
- Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills
- Design experience with various materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and light gauge steel and their associated design standards. Design experience with mass timber is preferred
- Ability to design lateral and gravity systems of low-rise buildings and buildings with complex geometries
- Strong understanding of load paths and constructability
- Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering required
- Master’s degree in structural engineering preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with the structural design of buildings or similar structures
- Registration as a P.E. required
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- Expected Base Salary: $92,000 to 102,000 depending on education, experience, and licensure
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
