Structural Engineer (5 - 10 Years)

About the role

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a minimum 5 years of experience for our LA – Woodland Hills office. The successful candidate will be a licensed engineer with solid experience in the design of steel, concrete, and wood commercial/institutional buildings.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings.
• Contribute to project teams of engineers, designers, and drafters to execute structural designs.
• Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
• Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.
• Work closely with the Discipline Manager to support the needs of the department, projects, and growth objectives.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
• PE registration in California.
• 5–10 years' experience with design of concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Local California coding experience.
• Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight.
• Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered CA Structural Engineer (preferred).
• M.S. degree in Structural Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Multi-discipline project management experience (preferred).
• Experience with DSA and OSHPD (preferred).
• Experience with 3D modeling software (ETABS, RISA, SAFE) (preferred).

Benefits

• Approximate base salary: $95,000 – $120,000+ based on experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Competitive end-of-year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
