Structural Engineer (0-3 Years)

About the role
Coffman Engineers is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry Level Structural Engineer for our LA - Woodland Hills office. The ideal candidate should have a desire to work and grow as a team player within a multi-discipline engineering firm.
Responsibilities
- Work semi-independently.
- Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Perform structural analysis and design of structural members such as beams, columns, walls, joists, and foundations.
- Develop structural models that mathematically define and idealize the actual structure being designed.
- Use approved codes and standards to define structural demands on buildings due to wind and seismic loadings.
- Analyze and design connections of the various structural elements in a building structure.
- Perform analysis needed to evaluate seismic risk in existing buildings using approved structural codes and standards.
Requirements
- A four-year degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).
- Registration as an E.I.T.
- Internship in the structural design of buildings or similar structures (preferred).
- Experience with computer analysis software systems.
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable consulting to architectural practices.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline design team.

- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).
- Able to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel preferred.
- Able to work independently as well as on teams.
- Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
Benefits
- Approximate Base Salary – $75,000 - $90,000+ based on experience.
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
- Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
- Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
- 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution.
