About the role
Join our Project Delivery Group (PDG), a dynamic team of professionals passionately committed to world-class project delivery across the globe. PDG helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects in the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors. We manage our clients’ entire project lifecycle from studies to building assets, operating the assets, and developing efficiencies.
As a Structural Designer, you will participate in a wide range of projects covering civil structures design, including bridges, retaining walls, dams, culvert structures, liquid retaining structures, and pump stations. You will engage in site investigation, steel and concrete modeling of civil structures for both front-end planning and detailed engineering phases of multi-discipline projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models in an integrated CAD environment and extract 2D drawings for fabrication
- Produce detailed engineering drawings and documents
- Lead project design work, coordinate the work of Structural Designers, and check the design work of other personnel
- Prepare design concepts and project proposals
- Participate in formal engineering processes
- Participate in site investigation and civil/structural steel modeling for both front-end planning studies and detailed engineering phases for multi-discipline projects
- Mentor and assist in on-the-job training of designers
Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in 3D structural modeling with Bentley products (Aecosim, Open Building, Microstation)
- AutoCAD experience is optional
- Experience in the design of the heavy industrial sector is preferred
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision in a multi-discipline team setting
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey project technical information to project managers, clients, and peers
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and provide direction to others to ensure the quality of deliverables
- Strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent safety awareness
