Structural Designer

Job Summary

In this role, you will participate in the planning, development, modification, and review of project civil/structural design work. You will assist with preparation of 3D models, drawings, civil/structural design estimates and work plan. Your participation will ensure designs and work plans are in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, regulations, and standards.

Major Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of design work within a medium-size structural design work group on projects of medium to large size or assignments in support of global business unit
• Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of foundations, concrete and steel superstructures, and steel detailing
• Covers and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of structural engineers, scientists, specialists, designers and drafters
• Communicates technical issues and recommends solutions
• Aids in the preparation of civil/structural design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget
• Coordinates with client representatives as delegated to obtain approval on phases of work
• Reviews and approves key civil/structural engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries
• Ensures civil/structural systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
