About the role
The Bridges and Structures Team at Stantec is dedicated to creating connections that transform communities through the planning, design, and management of transportation projects. We focus on bridges, roads, and rail, and strive to make our communities safer, cleaner, and more resilient.
Responsibilities
Preparing structural design calculations in accordance with applicable design standards and agencies (e.g., AASHTO, IBC, ACI, AISC, NJDOT, NJTA & NYSDOT).
Performing structural analysis of new designs and existing structures (bridges, retaining walls, sign structures, culverts, etc.).
Leading and reviewing conceptual design alternatives to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
Preparing contract documents including conceptual design alternatives, contract drawings, and specifications.
Preparing technical specifications and special provisions.
Reviewing contract shop drawings for conformance with contract design.
Tender document preparation and contract management.
Assisting in biennial bridge inspection projects; writing bridge inspection reports.
Preparing repair details.
Regularly collaborating with colleagues in other offices and different areas of expertise in an integrated design environment.
Requirements
Knowledge of IBC, AASHTO, ACI, ASCE, NJDOT, NJTA standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with a design team on assignments.
Professional Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university/college specializing in structural engineering required.
Professional Engineering license required.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
Skills
Experience with concrete design and construction is preferred.

Pay and Schedule
Pay range: $85,400.00 - $119,600.00 annually.
Full-time schedule.
