About the role
Stantec is seeking a highly Structural Design Team Leader with a minimum of 15 years bridge design and transportation project delivery experience. The position is flexible between our Burlington and Boston, MA offices and hybrid work.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Stantec’s Southern New England Structural Team Lead.
- Contribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business development.
- Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider.
- Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services.
- Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader.
- Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives.
- Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
- Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management.
- Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our team.
- Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities.
- Leads, mentors, and develops team members through coaching, performance oversight, and ongoing professional growth support.
Requirements
- Experience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects.
- Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projects.
- Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Business development experience required.
- Marketing skills required.
- Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment.
- Design-Build or other alterative project delivery experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Post graduate degree preferred.
- MA Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience with bridge design and transportation project delivery.
