Structural Design Team Leader
About the role
Stantec is seeking a highly Structural Design Team Leader with a minimum of 15 years bridge design and transportation project delivery experience. The position is flexible between our Burlington and Boston, MA offices and hybrid work.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Stantec’s Southern New England Structural Team Lead.
- Contribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business development.
- Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider.
- Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services.
- Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader.
- Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives.
- Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
- Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management.
- Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our team.
- Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities.
- Leads, mentors, and develops team members through coaching, performance oversight, and ongoing professional growth support.
Requirements
Experience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects.
Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projects.
Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Business development experience required.
Marketing skills required.
Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment.
Design-Build or other alterative project delivery experience preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
Post graduate degree preferred.
MA Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience with bridge design and transportation project delivery.
Skills

Benefits
Pay Range: $151,700.00 - $227,600.00 Annually
Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA, VA Areas
