Structural Design Manager
About the role
You will be the Aeronautical Engineering Manager for the Structures Design team, responsible for supporting the C130 digitization effort. This includes reviewing 3D models provided by a supplier to ensure accuracy and completeness. Detail part and assembly models will be reviewed and validated in Catia V5 for accuracy and to perform clash analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead the C130 digitization efforts for the AMMM Airframe Design team.
- Assign work scope, manage a supplier, prioritize tasks, report metrics, and allocate resources (both direct Lockheed Martin and contractor).
- Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the contractor team to ensure quality and quantity of supplied engineers align with the Statement of Work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in a management or team lead role.
- Experience with airframe design/development, production support, and sustainment support.
- Experience with Catia V5, NX/Teamcenter, or a similar PLM/CAD toolset.
Desired Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with legacy aircraft platform drawings, tools, and processes.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $129,000 – $239,600. Salary is determined by factors including scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations.
