Structural Design Engineer 3
Position Responsibilities
Develops, integrates, and documents mechanical and structural payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Maintains and manages mechanical and structural system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Performs tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Leads supplier development, test, and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Leads investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Clearly communicates technical information with Company teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory delegates to certify and produce a product.
Develops new repairs, creates 3d printed test parts for part validation and collaborates with local machine shops to rapidly produce repair parts for the test article.
Builds strong relationships with the production teams that produce test parts for the test article is vital to the success of the program.
Requirements
- Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).
- 2+ years of engineering experience.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years’ experience in Aerospace Structures Engineering.
- Experience with IVT and REDARs.
- Experience with CMPRO.
- Experience with collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
- Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
