About the Role
As a full-service team, LJB brings deep technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to every project, creating safe, efficient, and forward-thinking transportation solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to support and grow our Transportation Practice in our Portland, Maine office.
Responsibilities
- Manage, scope, fees, and profitability of individual projects and project portfolio.
- Point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
- Aid in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
- Guide and coordinate internal LJB transportation disciplines with sub-consultants and clients.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Possess an understanding of all transportation disciplines and requirements as related to bridge design projects.
- Assist in maintaining PM best practices.
- Apprise Operations Management of employee performance on projects.
- Provide information to Deputy Operations Manager on future projects so they can manage staffing.
- Assist in informal development of other employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- P.E. license.
- At least 10 years of experience in consulting or engineering.
- Experience working with DOTs.
- M.S. degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
- Project team leadership experience.
- Project and client management experience.
- MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil-3D software experience.
