About the role
The ideal candidate will design bridges, and be involved in business development and proposal preparation. This position offers numerous project challenges and an opportunity to become part of a well-established technical group.
Responsibilities
- Lead designing and preparing plans, specifications and estimates for Bridges, per FDOT requirements.
- Perform structural analysis and design with a concentration on Florida Highway structures.
- Review of shop drawings and perform structural inspection of bridges and highway structures.
- Lead design meetings and coordinate with team members.
- Mentoring, training and developing junior staff.
- Assisting with business development, preparation of proposals and potential to expand our client base.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis in course work.
- A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of practical experience in the structural design of bridges with working knowledge of FDOT standards preferred.
- (Candidates with greater experience are encouraged to apply).
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design programs preferred, along with working knowledge of MicroStation programs.
- Ability to develop details, drawings and plan sheets in MicroStation is strongly preferred.
- Experience with OpenBridge Modeler and Designer software is a significant advantage.
- Registration as a PE in FL is required.
- Previous business development and project management experience a plus.
