Strp & Test Operator I - 3rd Shift
About the role
This position is responsible for the removal of mandrel and staging of hose for the Finishing Operator. Essential functions include preparing the product for processing, applying pressure for blow-out, troubleshooting removal issues, removing excess water, completing paperwork, indicating hose length for next stage processing, transferring mandrels, working overtime as needed, and participating in team-based initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the product for processing according to work instructions
- Apply the designated pressure for blow-out
- Troubleshoot removal issues to maximize production quantity
- Remove excess water from processed hose
- Complete associated paperwork and indicate hose length for next stage processing
- Transfer mandrel for next stage processing
- Work overtime as required, including extended shifts and weekends, to meet business needs
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Experience: Production work preferred but not required
- Preferred Skills: Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills, basic knowledge and use of hand tools, sound decision-making skills, good math, reading, and writing skills, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, strong trouble-shooting skills, ability to work well in a team environment, basic computer skills, ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes, vision: near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks, requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail, physical requirements: none at all

- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment
- Work closely with other departments as needed

Work Environment
- High noise levels from operating machines and equipment

- Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis
- Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
- May be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws
