About the role
The position of the Stroke Transfer Coordinator/ UKHC is necessary for the safe, effective and efficient care of the patient. Currently managed in the Cardiovascular ICU only.
Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with the stroke program coordinator
- Respond to stroke alerts
- Perform data collection and auditing
- Manage stroke alert patient throughout the care continuum
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 3 years of related experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Qualifications
- Physical ability to push/pull at least 50 lbs.
- Excellent and efficient primary patient care in a transport setting (by ground in an ambulance, rotary aircraft or fixed-wing aircraft).
- Ability to work three, 12-hour shifts per week, 7PM to 730AM; some weekends and holidays may be required.
