About the Role
The Stroke Transfer Coordinator at UK HealthCare is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient care of stroke patients, currently managed within the Cardiovascular ICU. This role works in conjunction with the stroke program coordinator to respond to stroke alerts, perform data collection and auditing, and manage stroke alert patients throughout the care continuum.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate safe and efficient transfer of stroke patients in a transport setting (ground ambulance, rotary aircraft, or fixed-wing aircraft).
- Respond to stroke alerts and assist in patient management across the care continuum.
- Perform data collection and auditing related to stroke care.
- Provide primary patient care in high-pressure transport environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 3 years of related experience.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certification in National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Ability to push/pull at least 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in stroke, neuroscience, or ICU care.
Schedule
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
- Required to work some weekends and holidays.
Pay
$29.12–$45.70 per hour.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to provide efficient primary patient care in a transport setting (ground, rotary, or fixed-wing aircraft).
This is a full-time staff position with no supervisory responsibilities.
