Stroke Coordinator, Nursing Administration

About the Role

Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a Stroke Program Coordinator, RN for a full-time position in Nursing Administration. This role ensures the assessment, management, implementation, and evaluation of interventions set forth by accrediting agencies for disease-specific program certifications and CMS. The Stroke Program Coordinator collaborates with the Stroke Medical Director to oversee the hospital's stroke program, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Incumbents must be knowledgeable about standards of care for stroke patients and meet annual educational requirements for certified stroke centers.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical nursing, technical knowledge, skills, and expertise required for comprehensive neurological and stroke patient care.
• Manage the overall hospital stroke program in collaboration with the Stroke Medical Director.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies for disease-specific program certifications and CMS requirements.
• Assess, implement, and evaluate interventions to maintain and improve stroke care standards.
• Serve as a resource for training and patient care related to stroke management.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact/Multi-state license (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience (required).
