About the role
The primary requirements of the Strip Mill Operator are to properly blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within allowable specifications.
Responsibilities
- Blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within specifications
- Cut rubber stock off the mill and lift it back to band on the mill
- Pull rubber strips (2 to 20 inches wide) from the mill and feed onto the take‑off belt (~3 ft away)
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently on a 2‑ to 5‑minute cycle
- Maintain quality control by monitoring production output
- Identify any issues with the product or process
- Communicate with additional staff members
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- Fill out two‑roll safety checklist
- Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures
Requirements
- One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Willing to work overtime including weekends
- Close visual work required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of general computer skills
- Attention to detail

- Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently

Pay
The hourly rate is $18 per hour, plus a $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
Schedule
Third shift runs from 10:45 pm to 7:00 am, Sunday through Thursday.
