Strings & Orchestra Teacher

About the role

The Ursuline School seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and accomplished music educator to serve as Strings & Orchestra Teacher. The successful candidate will lead the school's Orchestra program while providing high-quality string instruction to students in Grades 6–12.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school's Orchestra program
• Provide high-quality string instruction to students in Grades 6–12
• Build upon Ursuline's long tradition of musical excellence
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in a thriving Performing Arts Department

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in string pedagogy and orchestral conducting
• Experience teaching middle and/or high school orchestra and string students preferred
• Experience preparing student ensembles for public performance
• Strong communication, rehearsal planning, and classroom management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students while fostering artistic excellence
• Commitment to educating the whole person within a Catholic, college preparatory environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred
