About the role
The Ursuline School seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and accomplished music educator to serve as Strings & Orchestra Teacher. The successful candidate will lead the school's Orchestra program while providing high-quality string instruction to students in Grades 6–12.
Responsibilities
- Lead the school's Orchestra program
- Provide high-quality string instruction to students in Grades 6–12
- Build upon Ursuline's long tradition of musical excellence
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in a thriving Performing Arts Department
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in string pedagogy and orchestral conducting
- Experience teaching middle and/or high school orchestra and string students preferred
- Experience preparing student ensembles for public performance
- Strong communication, rehearsal planning, and classroom management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students while fostering artistic excellence
- Commitment to educating the whole person within a Catholic, college preparatory environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred
