String Teaching Artist

About the role

The String Teaching Artist will work in our North Adams and/or Pittsfield sites (depending on availability) and can work 3-5 days a week up [20 hours per week or 2nd Position is 25-30 hours per week]. There is flexibility with scheduling in our after-school programming. Requires own transportation and travel.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental technique on violin with beginning, intermediate, and advanced school-aged string ensembles
• Provide lessons focused on age-appropriate skill development for young musicians and building community through ensemble playing
• Conduct private and semi-private lessons

Qualifications

• Experience with trauma-informed education
• Belief in music as a vehicle for social change
• Availability for some nights and weekends

Pay

$20–40 hourly wage
