STREETS MAINTENANCE WORKER

About the role

This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work and operates a variety of specialized equipment in the construction, repair, maintenance and replacement of streets, sidewalks, and storm water infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, and maintains streets, sidewalks, street signs, streetlights, and at frequent intervals to ensure that all aspects of the systems are functioning properly.
• Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, etc.
• Maintains a variety of Village and IEPA records relating to stormwater inspections, GIS background, maintenance activity, street repairs, street signs and lights, work completed, etc.
• Operates light and medium-sized construction and power equipment, such as snowplow and de-icing truck, street sweeper, vactor jetter/vactor truck, front end loader, and backhoe/loader.
