Street Maintenance Worker

About the role

The City of Dunn Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Street Maintenance Worker.

Responsibilities

• Performs varied tasks vital to the overall upkeep of the City’s streets.
• Assists with storm water, paving, concrete work, right-of-way maintenance, and other related duties.
• Drives trucks and operates light and medium equipment needed for the job.
• Makes repairs to the water and sewer system as needed.
• Serve on-call and respond in a timely manner to emergency situations (including week nights, weekends and holidays).
• Work subject to extreme hot and cold weather.

Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid North Carolina Driver License.
• A Class B CDL License is a plus.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.

Skills

• Ability to operate heavy machinery.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good physical fitness.

Pay

Starting Salary Range: $18.56 per hour.
