Strategy & Operations Lead – Care Management

The Humana Care Management Clinical Outcomes team focuses on improving clinical outcomes and delivering on business priorities for care management programs. We employ a rigorous process to set business priorities, identify value sources, and lead a multi-disciplinary approach to enhance clinical outcomes, cost control, quality, and member experience.
The Strategy & Operations Lead provides data-backed strategic direction to identify and address business opportunities for improving care for Medicare and Special Needs Population (SNP) under Humana’s Care Management services. You will identify and operationalize innovations to improve effectiveness, efficiency, or member experience. This role involves solving complex problems by collaborating with key stakeholders across the enterprise (e.g., clinical, quality, operations, analytics) and translating strategic recommendations into execution plans.
Responsibilities
- Engage in ambiguous problem-solving and strategy setting.
- Use data and insights from experts to identify the greatest opportunities in clinical outcomes, quality, cost, and experience for members in care management programs.
- Lead cross-functional teams to define discrete, impactful, and achievable opportunities.
- Work directly with cross-functional partners to create execution models and roadmaps for capturing prioritized opportunities.
- Interpret and leverage data and analytics to improve strategy and make recommendations; complete analysis and modeling of data to drive insights.
- Articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms, adapting to different audiences, including senior leadership.
- Influence others and lead through ambiguity with proven organization, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Collaborate with multiple enterprise departments and stakeholders to execute within deadlines.
- Work independently to manage projects and achieve objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, healthcare, or operations, or 4+ years of experience with a consulting firm or corporate strategy in driving and creating strategy and/or operations experience.
- Previous experience in strategy consulting, commercial, business strategy, clinical and operational areas, or related roles.
- Ability to interpret and leverage data and analytics to improve strategy and make recommendations.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Proven skills in influencing others and a track record of success leading through ambiguity.
- Competency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel).
Qualifications
- Exposure or experience with clinical care delivery and interventions and/or care management.
- Direct people leadership experience.
- Healthcare industry experience.
Work Environment
- This is a remote position with occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
- Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps (wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested).
- Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be used only if approved by leadership.
- Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for internet expenses.
- Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate for business requirements.
Pay
The pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $115,200 - $158,400 per year. The range may vary based on geographic location, and individual pay will depend on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications. This role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
