Strategy & Innovation Manager
About the role
Strategy and Innovations Senior Manager is responsible for leading the set-up, evaluation, and refinement of emerging and ongoing strategic initiatives, with a focus on providing insights regarding their performance in key areas of impact to support the immediate-term growth strategies for the brand. Structure strategic tests and leverage robust business tools and data sources to develop a holistic, integrated understanding of results, and leverage this understanding to inform future strategic direction. Synthesize data from multiple sources, translate data into action, and capable of packaging and communicating compelling stories. Develop relationships across category, operations, marketing, and merchandising teams to structure complex, ambiguous problems, and partner with cross functional leaders to develop relevant solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy team analyses in partnership with key cross-functional leaders to support decision-making and highlight potential strategic refinement opportunities.
- Responsible for structuring analyses and leveraging growing body of performance data including shopper behavioral insights, financial trends, category, merchandising and retail input to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvements in ongoing strategic initiatives.
- Develop shopper behavioral analysis (potentially by market, store, or customer group) to inform specific business needs.
- Expertise in and discretion for representing strategy team's position on Brand's immediate-term strategic agenda and growth priorities.
- Communicate results succinctly and ensure insights learned from shopper behavioral analysis are incorporated into business solutions and plans.
- Guide strategic projects on an as-needed basis, which would entail putting structure around ambiguous strategic questions, partnering with relevant strategists and/or business owners to analyze the problem and develop data driven insights to support a solution, and ultimately communicate work in a succinct and compelling manner.
- Develop recommendations and considerations to support selecting optimal stores for analysis.
- Communication with senior management of internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop an approach and structure for key tests to inform strategic decisions, including developing criteria to select test and control stores, plans to measure results, criteria for success, and building alignment with key stakeholders.
- Thought partner across the organization to help structure tools to measure, assess, and analyze results and initiative performance.
- Lead and engage in discussions with leadership about innovative approaches to analysis and the implications of different data, while building alignment on the results.
- Partner in cross-functional projects to design, create buy-in, and implement organizational level changes to address major internal and industry challenges.
Skills and Abilities
- Partners with functional areas and organizational leaders/external, including senior leadership, as assigned, to provide analytical/transactional/behavioral reporting support.
- Ability to lead, engage and influence other leaders both internal and external.
- Ability to lead the conceptualization, design, and leveraging multiple data sources; report and communicate the findings, recommendations to all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to manage multiple ad hoc, trackers, and high-visibility strategic projects and engage/influence/align with respective stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBi.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Related Field.
- Master's Degree preferred.
