Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to identify and implement supplier cost reductions.
• Aid in the selection and management of new and current suppliers.
• Perform make vs. buy analysis to determine optimal chain of supply for materials and suppliers.
• Support materials and quality teams to identify supplier delivery and quality issues.
• Source materials for new product launches and product model changes.
• Coordinate request for quote packages with supply base to ensure premium pricing for sourced materials.
• Collaborate with the finance and accounting departments to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
• Manage materials projects by using problem solving techniques, data from factory information systems, and lean manufacturing concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field required OR 2 or more years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 or more years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite, ERP system experience required; SAP and Teamscenter experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Supply Chain Certificate through APICS or ISM preferred.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical illustrations in a mathematical diagram and apply mathematical concepts and operations preferred.
