About the role
The Strategic Sourcing Manager at Truliant is responsible for leading the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of IT and digital banking products and services, including software, SaaS, hardware, and consulting. This role drives cost savings, optimizes supplier performance, and ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes multi-year sourcing plans for IT and digital products and services, such as digital platforms, software-as-a-service (SaaS), hardware, and consulting.
- Manages the entire procurement life cycle, including requests for information (RFIs), proposals (RFPs), and quotes (RFQs).
- Develops and implements sourcing strategies to support business objectives.
- Identifies, evaluates, and qualifies potential suppliers on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance.
- Maintains and analyzes spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Reports sourcing cost-outs monthly according to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Organizes and sets up tools to improve efficiency in sourcing activities.
- Sends RFQs and follows up with suppliers to ensure timely quotes.
- Pairs with internal stakeholders (Project Management, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, etc.) to understand business needs.
- Aligns sourcing activities with Truliant’s sustainability, compliance, and risk management policies.
- Ensures procurement practices comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Drives process improvements and automation in sourcing and procurement activities.
- Stays updated on market trends, pricing, and best practices in procurement.
- Proposes technology enhancements.
Requirements
- A solid understanding of the technology landscape, especially related to digital banking and financial technology (Fintech).
- Strong business and financial fundamentals, including an understanding of budgets, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Familiarity with negotiating Software, Hardware, and Hosted Technology agreements independently.
- Knowledge of information technologies and services, including cloud services and SaaS licensing models.
- Proven ability to lead programs/projects, influence and motivate cross-functional teams, and execute initiatives under tight deadlines and complex situations.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, plan, document, market, and execute programs effectively.
- Established project management skills, strong business acumen, and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in cross-cultural and geographically diverse environments.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and compliance mindset with focus on transactional and process integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field required.
- 6+ years of Digital Banking Technology Sourcing experience required.
- Strong experience in software licensing in working with financial information as a means of decision making, pricing comparisons & benchmarking required.
- Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating at the highest levels of a supplier required.
