About the role
Joining Johnson Matthey, a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history, you will contribute to tackling global challenges through advanced metals chemistry. Your role as a Strategic Procurement Business Partner involves:
- Partnering with CleanAir and CAS site and regional leaders as the primary point of contact for end-to-end procurement support across the assigned geography.
- Shaping and prioritizing local demand to improve spend efficiency, routing requests to the right JM Procurement or GBS delivery teams, and ensuring clear ownership across stakeholders.
- Building and delivering local savings plans and strategic sourcing initiatives aligned to global category strategies and JM procurement policies.
- Representing local requirements to global category teams, helping translate global strategies into locally effective solutions and steering spend to approved suppliers.
- Leading supplier performance management for local suppliers, including issue resolution and escalation management in partnership with sites, GBS, and global teams.
- Championing process excellence by driving compliant use of Coupa and other procurement tools, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives at site level.
Key skills
- Proven experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, and supplier management, with strong stakeholder engagement and customer focus.
- Demonstrated ability to influence budget holders, lead cross-functional collaboration, and deliver measurable savings and wider business value.
- Experience operating within a global organization and procurement operating model, balancing global standards with local business needs.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and communication skills, with confidence presenting to leadership teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with P2P/ERP systems and workflow tools (e.g., SAP, Coupa) is a must.
- Willingness to travel regionally and maintain regular on-site presence to support sites and suppliers as required.
