Pipeline Generation & Outbound Prospecting

Your primary mission is to generate qualified pipeline by identifying, researching, and engaging the right decision-makers at universities across the country. You will own the top of funnel by building and executing outbound campaigns to generate qualified meetings with university leaders. Research target accounts to identify the right entry points, org structures, and institutional pain points before reaching out. Use a multi-channel approach (email, phone, LinkedIn, etc.) to engage prospects and drive them into discovery conversations and demos.

Account Research & Strategic Targeting

Develop a working knowledge of higher education operations so your outreach is relevant, specific, and credible. Prioritize target accounts based on institutional fit, budget signals, technology stack, and strategic indicators. Build prospecting plans for priority accounts— who to contact, what to say, and why now.

Qualification & Discovery

Participate in initial discovery conversations to understand institutional needs, timelines, and decision-making processes. Qualify opportunities against CollegeVine's qualification criteria. Maintain disciplined meeting prep and CRM hygiene— deal stages, and activity logging in HubSpot. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Share market intelligence from prospect conversations—what’s resonating, what objections come up, and where opportunities exist.
  • Represent CollegeVine at industry events and conferences to build relationships and source pipeline.

What We Are Looking For

  • 1+ years of experience in a BDR/SDR or a similar role, consulting, investment banking, or at a hyper-growth startup
  • Track record of hitting outbound activity and pipeline targets (or equivalent proof of hustle and results orientation)
  • Extraordinarily high agency— you figure out how to reach the right person and get the meeting, even when the playbook doesn't cover it
  • Strong research skills and intellectual curiosity— you enjoy learning an industry and speaking credibly about it
  • Excellent written and verbal communication— your emails get opened and your calls get returned
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments; ability to context-switch between accounts and campaigns
  • Experience using AI tools to be more productive and effective
  • Strong plus: familiarity with higher education, or selling to complex/regulated institutions
