Strategic Markets VP II

About the role

We originate loans in niche markets serving Oak Street Funding's clients. The VPII is responsible for prospecting lending opportunities with aggregate exposure between $1MM to $30MM.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for lending opportunities through direct-to-market outbound calls and building a circle of influence to drive referrals.
• Develop relationships within niche markets and serve as a thought leader for Oak Street Funding.
• Qualify lending opportunities using a consultative sales approach and develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
• Prepare and present initial loan structures and term sheets to the loan committee, including cash flow analyses and financial strength assessments.
• Present term sheets to external parties to articulate the risk profile and subsequent loan structure.
• Negotiate loan terms with prospective clients based on risk-based pricing.
• Promote and cross-sell other banking products.
• Travel for business development, relationship management, due diligence trips, and industry events.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of relationship-based client procurement and account management.
• Excellent business acumen, including strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Organizational skills and well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience generating new business through consultative sales approaches.
• Experience reviewing credit applications, personal and business financial statements, credit reports, and understanding various corporate structures.
• Understanding of complex mid-market commercial loans and strong PC skills.
• Demonstrated sales and negotiation experience.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• 5 years of previous commercial lending, private or business banking experience.
• Credit training, credit quality, and underwriting fundamentals experience including financial analysis.
• College degree required.
