Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Prospecting lending opportunities with aggregate exposure between $1MM to $30MM.
• Developing relationships within niche markets Oak Street Funding serves through business development activities such as direct-to-market outbound calls, building a circle of influence, and being seen as a thought leader.
• Utilizing a consultative sales approach to qualify lending opportunities and develop a comprehensive understanding of the client's needs.
• Preparing and presenting to the loan committee an initial loan structure, including a cash flow analysis and ability to articulate the financial strength of the applicant.
• Externally, preparing and presenting term sheets to articulate the risk profile and subsequent structure outlined in a term sheet.
• Negotiate the terms of the loan with the prospective client.
• Promote and cross-sell other banking products.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

• 5+ years of relationship-based client procurement and account management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Well-developed organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong PC skills.
• Demonstrated sales and negotiation experience.
• Experience reviewing credit applications, personal and business financial statements, credit reports, and understanding various corporate structures.
• Experience with complex mid-market commercial loans.
• College degree required.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• 5 years of previous commercial lending, private or business banking experience.
• Credit training, credit quality, and underwriting fundamentals experience including financial analysis.

Physical Requirements

• Typical office setting which includes desk/computer work.
• Required travel for onsite visits with prospects and clients for business development, relationship management, due diligence trips, and representing Oak Street at industry events.
