Strategic Initiatives & Change Delivery (Malaysia, India)
About the role
This role can be based in Malaysia or India. The incumbent will be part of the Wealth Solutions Operations team, driving projects and initiatives, addressing issues, and actively participating in the delivery of core programmes as per the Operations and business roadmap. You will lead or support the achievement of Operations OKRs and benefits as required.
Responsibilities
- Drive complex and high-priority projects, managing sponsors and stakeholders with competing priorities, resourcing levels, and time constraints across all typical project phases.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to clarify project objectives, formulate business cases, and define business requirements, including setting and managing realistic expectations for successful delivery.
- Build and manage relationships with key project stakeholders in Operations, Technology, and Business Support, facilitating timely communication between groups.
- Coordinate and provide testing support to all relevant stakeholders.
- Optimise value delivery through continuous improvement, gathering feedback from stakeholders, subject matter experts, and clients, and reprioritising the backlog accordingly.
- Provide timely and accurate status reports to stakeholders, committees, and senior management.
- Track actions arising from various forums or committees to closure.
- Lead and support new product, process, or service initiatives in a project coordination or capacity management role in close collaboration with appropriate functions or units.
- Assist teams in process re-engineering efforts and contribute to overall efficiency improvements.
- Work with Operations units to assess and streamline processes to mitigate risk or control issues and generate efficiencies.
- Maintain a central repository of initiatives impacting Operations or led by Operations with detailed timelines.
- Monitor each project’s progress against schedule, identifying and escalating potential issues or risks.

- Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to squads.
- Ensure squad capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes.
Governance
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with WM Business, COO/Operations, TTO, Risk & Compliance, and Group Internal Audit to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups.
- Ensure appropriate representation across stakeholder groups in delivery forums.
- Escalate appropriately to ensure key stakeholders are made aware and can timely intervene to correct course.

Skills & Qualifications
- A degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
- More than 8 years’ experience in Operations, change, transformation, or business analysis roles, preferably in Wealth Management.
- Experience collaborating with technology project teams and representing business needs is highly valued.
- Proven track record of scoping and driving delivery of projects, achieving results independently, on time, and to budget.
- Ability to work in project teams to help formulate implications of specific solutions across processes (e.g., costs, risk, potential for reuse of capability).
- Demonstrated excellent people management skills and ability to influence key stakeholders outside direct control.
- Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and a strong consensus builder.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Strategic thinker, able to lead project working groups, with strong facilitation and data-gathering skills, and able to provide creative and innovative solutions.
- Understanding of Operations processes and procedures, with the ability to learn quickly. Knowledge of processes related to Operations or the Financial Services industry is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TP System, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable in supporting organisational objectives, with a positive willingness to contribute to additional responsibilities where appropriate.
