Strategic Communications Technical Writer
About the role
Write and edit technical documentation, user manuals, and sales and training literature. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including gathering technical information and program data for the development of accurate and high-quality documentation, paying strict attention to detail, and successfully adhering to deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the DoD Issuance Style Guide and AP Style
- Work with the front office of senior staff
- Develop communication plans to deliver high quality visual presentations, messaging, and print products
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Manage technical information and program data for the development of accurate and high-quality documentation
- Handle, mark, and track classified material appropriately
Requirements
- Experience utilizing the DoD Issuance Style Guide and AP Style
- Experience working with the front office of senior staff
- Experience writing, editing, and managing technical documentation for DoD applications, missions, or initiatives
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, and SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with technical writing to support strategic communications specialists, graphic designers, and policy analysts
- Knowledge of the proper handling, marking, and tracking of classified material
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Top Secret clearance
Skills
- Experience using AI tools to assist in the writing of technical documentation
- Knowledge of DoD 5000 series instructions
- Microsoft Office Specialist: Word Expert Certification

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD).
