Strategic Commodity Manager - Mechanical Components

About the role

Plan and execute strategy for key commodities, promote supplier collaboration and cross-functional engagement of suppliers and key Yaskawa America, Inc. (YAI) stakeholders, including Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain Management and Quality.

Responsibilities

• Represent Strategic Sourcing in key cross-functional efforts.
• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or Business Administration.
• With a MBA or Masters of Engineering degree being a huge plus!
• 7+ years of strategic sourcing experience, including demonstrated experience in negotiations, supplier contracts, cost reduction initiatives, and supporting manufacturing operations.
• Extensive experience in sourcing sheet metal fabrications and precision machining along with some experience in sourcing plastic components.
• Experience in directly sourcing raw materials is preferred.
• Expertise in effective application of strategic sourcing methodologies and tools, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Value Added by Supplier (VAVE), Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Sourcing and Make-vs-Buy processes is a must.
• Must be highly analytical, demonstrate strong leadership skills and creative problem solving abilities.
