We are currently hiring for a Strategic Commodity Manager to join our growing team in the Aerospace/Defense industry. This is a highly impactful role that will oversee commodity management at the global level for our organization. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of commodity strategies to drive cost reduction, efficiency, and quality improvements.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with our business objectives.
- Conduct regular vendor negotiations to secure advantageous terms and maintain a clear understanding of the latest market trends and business opportunities.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Oversee the sourcing process, identifying and selecting high-quality suppliers in line with our procurement strategy.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the Aerospace and Defense sectors, leveraging this knowledge to improve our procurement and sourcing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process, identifying and implementing opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role within Aerospace/Defense Manufacturing or Automotive Manufacturing.
- Must have experience with structural components including aluminum, titanium, and/or composite bonding used in the aerospace or automotive sectors.
- Proven track record in Purchasing, Vendor Negotiation, Vendor Management, Vendor Scoring, Supplier Management, and Supplier Negotiation.
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement, Lean Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Cost Reduction.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Must be ITAR compliant.
