This role focuses on strategic client management for National Accounts in the 5,000+ customer segment, ensuring growth, profitability, and superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of National Accounts, ensuring maintenance, growth, and increased profitability.
  • Develop and execute client-specific business plans to deliver "value-added" services.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and UHG senior management.
  • Monitor client financial performance, including renewal planning and profitability levels.
  • Navigate internal departments to produce positive results for clients and the company.
  • Participate in client, broker, and consultant meetings, assessing needs and resources for RFPs.
  • Provide feedback to management on market trends and maintain healthcare industry knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales and client management experience in group employee benefits.
  • Appropriate state insurance licenses or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated underwriting, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Proven relationship management skills and a track record of cultivating client relationships.
  • Superior customer service skills with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Ability to articulate the value proposition, including clinical and financial aspects.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with group presentation expertise.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel 30%+ as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate UHG to resolve customer issues.
  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational and leadership skills.
  • Skillful negotiator with a strategic vision for accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with senior-level staff.

Pay

The salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $160,000 annually, based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible for bonuses based on sales performance.

Location: Central Region, Minneapolis or Chicago preferred (remote work available)
