Strategic Advisory Council Member
About the role
The Strategic Advisory Council Member role at Outcome School is a volunteer, non-governing advisory position designed for leaders who want to make a meaningful contribution without assuming board governance responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Attend quarterly advisory meetings of 60 to 90 minutes
- Review brief pre-meeting materials and come prepared to advise on priority questions
- Provide thoughtful feedback to the CEO and leadership team
- Make strategic introductions where helpful
- Serve as ambassadors for Outcome School’s mission and growth
Requirements
This role requires a strong commitment to expanding economic opportunity for underserved youth and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- technology hiring, engineering, product, design, AI, cybersecurity, or related fields
- workforce development, apprenticeships, internships, or job placement
- curriculum design, instructional strategy, or project-based learning
- youth development and student support, especially for underserved communities
- community partnerships, school partnerships, and referral networks
- employer engagement and internship pathway development
- nonprofit growth, fundraising, or philanthropy
- finance, operations, and organizational scaling
- data, evaluation, and outcomes measurement
- lived experience that reflects the backgrounds of the young people Outcome School serves
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be able to do at least one of the following well:
- open doors to employers, partners, and funders
- improve the strength and relevance of the program model
- help Outcome School scale with discipline, quality, and sustainability
Skills
While not exhaustive, the following skills are desirable:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically and provide insightful advice
- Experience in relevant fields or industries
- Commitment to equity and inclusion

Schedule
Advisory Council members are expected to attend approximately 4 meetings per year, plus occasional project-based support.
