Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and other growth opportunities that support Business Banking objectives.
- Serve as the Business Banking lead throughout the transaction lifecycle, including opportunity assessment, due diligence, business case development, financial analysis, term sheet preparation, and contract negotiations, as appropriate.
- Lead cross-functional teams comprised of stakeholders from Finance, Accounting, Product, Legal, Risk, Operations, and other key business functions to assess and execute strategic initiatives.
- Develop and deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding market opportunities, growth investments, partnerships, and acquisition targets.
- Partner with leaders across U.S. Bank to maximize enterprise value and identify opportunities for collaboration, integration, and growth.
- Collaborate with partners across Payments, Treasury Management, Consumer & Business Banking, Private Wealth, and other business lines to identify opportunities that increase client engagement, deepen relationships, and expand Business Banking market presence.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and market developments to identify opportunities that can drive business growth and cross-enterprise impact.
- Lead the development and refinement of a multi-year acquisition, investment, and partnership strategy aligned with Business Banking growth objectives.
- Provide thought leadership on long-term strategic direction, market positioning, and inorganic growth opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of the banking, fintech, payments, and small business banking landscape.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and business case development expertise.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and negotiating acquisitions, investments, strategic partnerships, and alliance agreements.
- Experience leading complex due diligence processes involving financial, operational, legal, compliance, and risk considerations.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.
- Able to navigate ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders, and drive decision-making across a matrixed organization.
- Strong executive presence with outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Prioritizing building relationships and collaborating effectively across business lines and functional teams.
Hybrid/Flexible Schedule
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
