Strapper Operator

About the role

You will be part of a team that works together to efficiently and safely unload all cars of brick and shapes. You will need to develop a strong knowledge of the entire unloading operation as well as the strapping station, which includes the MHT 80 and Z20 Signode strappers.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong knowledge of the entire unloading operation as well as the strapping station, which includes the MHT 80 and Z20 Signode strappers.
• Operate all unloading equipment efficiently, at desired rates with minimum downtime.
• Communicate with supervision about production, quality and safety issues.
• Participate in weekly TPM and 5S activities as outlined by management.

Requirements

• Maintain a safe and clean work area to avoid personal injury and/or property damage.
• Maintain established production levels on strapping station equipment or other equipment if assigned.
• Use proper safety equipment and procedures including LO/TOM.
• Maintain a high level of cube quality and ensure all cubes are tagged correctly.
• Understand computers as they relate to the unloading process.
• Make machine and strapping head adjustments daily.
• Make fast and efficient brick size and style changes.
• Use hand tools to perform minor repairs, preventive maintenance and machine changeovers.
• Possess basic knowledge of transfer cars and haulage systems.
• Help in other positions when needed.
• Work off hours or shifts if necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, climb and bend regularly.
• Hardhat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes and ear plugs etc. required.
