Responsibilities

  • Serve as supervisor and coach of direct reports, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
  • Complete performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Encourage and deliver excellent customer service across all associates.
  • Maximize sales and sales margins through strategic initiatives.
  • Reduce customer and associate dishonesty by identifying high-risk areas and investigating incidents.
  • Maintain and monitor large shrink areas in stores to prevent losses.
  • Implement and enforce corporate and divisional service, merchandising, and operating requirements.
  • Develop and adjust weekly work schedules based on department and store needs.
  • Conduct internal investigations and provide credible testimony in legal proceedings.
  • Verify the proper functioning of electronic article surveillance systems (EAS).
  • Participate in safety meetings and co-chair/shaft shrink meetings.
  • Prepare and submit missing merchandise reports as required.
  • Promote associate participation in the Fred Meyer Incentive Award Program.
  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and adhere to all safety guidelines and standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with corporate associates to support asset protection initiatives.
  • Manage common associate areas to ensure they align with the "Our People Are Great" initiative.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet department and store needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of experience in retail asset protection or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum age of 18 in most locations, 21 in Alaska.
  • Ability to pass a drug test, maintain confidentiality, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with asset protection terminology and processes.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and handle sensitive information.
  • Desired: Strong interrogation and interviewing skills.
