StorQuest Store Manager

About the role

As the first-line representative to William Warren Properties customers, the Store Manager maintains the daily operations of single or multiple self-storage locations under the direction of the District Manager. This full-time position provides services for one or more locations within a District.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales objectives and build revenues by:
  • Maximizing conversion of telephone and walk-in inquiries into rentals
  • Promoting William Warren Properties in the community
  • Recommending and implementing marketing strategies based on competitor information
• Maintain appropriate financial controls and achieve financial goals by:
  • Accurately managing cash and balancing receipts
  • Pursuing collections, posting payments, and processing daily bank deposits accurately and timely
  • Operating within prescribed budgets
  • Following up on delinquent accounts
  • Approving and forwarding all invoices as required
• Consistently practice effective customer service techniques by:
  • Answering phones in a friendly, pleasant, and professional manner
  • Greeting customers promptly, enthusiastically, and professionally
  • Knowing and presenting the features and benefits of the property at all opportunities
  • Resolving customer issues in a timely and effective manner
• Maintain timely and accurate administrative processes by:
  • Maintaining accurate records for each customer including contracts, insurance, change of address forms, addendums, and any correspondence
  • Effectively utilizing computer systems in the Microsoft Windows environment
  • Maintaining accurate merchandise inventory
  • Keeping auction files updated and accurate; knowing the state’s auction lien laws
  • Compiling required and assigned reports and projects correctly and timely
  • Consulting the Policy & Procedures manual regularly for answers, clarification, and consistency
• Direct Storage Consultants and maintenance workers to assist with successful facility operations
• Monitor security systems and resolve security problems; perform daily lock checks
• Regularly audit the physical condition of the facility; perform minor maintenance and coordinate with contractors for improvements
• Ensure company standards of cleanliness and appearance are met or exceeded
• Assist customers with truck rentals at some locations
• Perform other duties as assigned; work with minimum supervision and operate effectively on a team

Qualifications

• Preferred 2+ years in customer service/sales
• Tech-savvy is a plus
• Experience in cash handling is required
• Must be available on weekends
• Passion for guest service and sales
• Ability to work as part of a team to support and motivate a collaborative, positive work environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and stoop frequently
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently
• Ability to push up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Ability to lift above head frequently
• Ability to work weekends as needed or required
• Ability to operate tools and maintenance equipment using manual dexterity of hands and arms
• Ability to communicate in written and verbal format frequently
• Regular and consistent attendance at the assigned location is required

Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Pay

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour + competitive bonus potential
