About the role

The Department of Environmental Services (DES) is seeking a Stormwater Management Inspector to perform construction management work that includes inspecting construction projects for compliance with Virginia's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and mandated requirements to achieve water quality standards, prevent pollution, and detect/eliminate illicit discharge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction projects for compliance with Virginia’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit and related mandated requirements.
• Ensure construction activities meet water quality standards and prevent pollution.
• Detect and eliminate illicit discharges associated with construction sites.
• Perform construction management tasks related to stormwater management.
