About the role

You will join the Ungeteamet (Youth Team) within the Specialised Disability department, which handles authority tasks in the specialised child and youth sector. The team focuses on creating holistic and sustainable solutions for children, young people, and families with special needs. Your role as a child and youth advisor will involve authority tasks under the Child Act and the Service Act, including disability-compensating services, needs assessments, development of action plans, and follow-up on supportive interventions.

The work is based on the child’s perspective and involves close collaboration with families and relevant professionals. You will use the Integrated Children’s System (ICS) method, which emphasises the involvement of the child/young person, their family, and network, focusing on resources and a holistic approach.

Responsibilities

• Handle authority tasks under the Child Act and Service Act, including disability-compensating services.
• Assess support needs, develop action plans, and follow up on interventions.
• Work closely with families and professionals to ensure a child-centred approach.
• Support young people with disabilities (ages 12–18) in transitioning to adulthood, focusing on education, employment, and community inclusion.
• Coordinate and set common goals, continuously evaluating progress to ensure effective follow-up.
• Ensure a smooth transition to adult services, such as youth support, housing, or pedagogical support at home.
• Apply the ICS method in your work, involving the young person, family, and network.

Requirements

• Educational background as a social worker, social educator, or equivalent.
• Experience with authority work and knowledge of disability services is an advantage, but newly qualified candidates will receive training.
• Ability to work systematically and meet deadlines while handling unpredictable tasks.
• Strong communication skills and experience working inclusively, facilitating change for families.
• Solution-focused approach, with knowledge of or experience with the ICS method.
• Development-oriented mindset and willingness to work in a dynamic organisation.
• Courage to make decisions and stand by them, always with the child’s best interests in mind.
• Ability to engage with young people and families on equal terms, with curiosity and respect.

About the team

The Ungeteamet (Youth Team) holds authority responsibility for young people with disabilities aged 12–18 and their transition to adulthood. The team’s core task is to support young people in this transition, ensuring access to education, employment, and community inclusion. The work involves coordination, involvement, and setting shared goals that are continuously evaluated to ensure effective follow-up.

The goal is to create a solid plan for the young person’s transition into adulthood, ensuring they receive the right support when they turn 18, such as youth support, housing, or pedagogical support at home.

Pay

Salary and employment terms follow the current collective agreement for social workers, social educators, and administrative staff, with principles of local wage formation.

Schedule

Two maternity leave cover positions, each with a 37-hour workweek. Start date is 1 September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The positions are based in Svendborggade 5, Copenhagen Ø.
