Storekeeper I (UN111)
About the role
The Storekeeper will report directly to the Materials Supervisor and daily supervision of the Lead storekeeper. This position is responsible for operating a safe, efficient warehouse and providing materials to business partners in a timely manner and works collaboratively with Inventory Control to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Responsibilities
- Operate a safe, efficient warehouse and provide materials to business partners in a timely manner
- Ensure company safety policies, procedures and work practices are being followed in all areas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA compliant warehouse and yard including scrap bins and wood pile
- Respond to emergency call outs in a timely fashion, preferably within 20 minutes
- Process material tickets daily for entry into the computerized inventory system to maintain system integrity
- Identify materials and equipment and direct the unloading, coordination and planning for expected daily shipments
- Provide support for delivery notifications and monitor delivery to schedule and PO requirements
- Verify that the material invoiced has been received on-site and the invoice payment can be made
- Cook up and execute all deliveries on and off site
- Aid in the preparation of reports, documents and records for the material and maintenance management system
- Maintain files and perform filing related to plant records and reports
- Cook up and assist in office furniture moves for Company employees when needed
- Represent the Materials Management function professionally at onsite management meetings as needed
- Greet delivery driver and warehouse customers with courteous customer service
- Aid with some buying duties, including expediting shipments and working with buyers on various issues
- Work cooperatively with company and vendor’s employees
- Able to life 50IB throughout the day
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year in supply chain warehouse experience
- Valid Driver License upon hire
- Forklift Certification within 30 days of hire
Desired
- Associate's Degree in Business, management, leadership, supply chain
- Understanding of materials management procedures, including unloading, receipt, check-in, storage, control, and issuance of materials preferred
- Ability to prioritize work to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Ability to lift 50-pound boxes continuously throughout the day
- Ability to perform mathematical functions
- Ability to make routine public contact with contractors, service personnel and governing agencies
- Ability to make judgmental decisions with little or no supervision
- Ability to receive oral communications and instructions
- Ability to read and understand technical information, such as contracts, equipment specifications, drawings and instructions
- Able to acquire personal computer skills, including use of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to work safely and provide stop work authority
Pay
Pay Range: $31.42 - $36.96 per hour (Determined by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement)
