Storekeeper I

About the role

Storekeeper I positions order, receive, store, and issue or release various materials, records, and supplies; perform inventory control and assist in the development and maintenance of a computerized inventory system; function as a liaison with vendors to resolve problems with items received or vendor payment; assist with keeping store's cost allocations and preparing budget estimates; prepare reports; supervise adherence to safety rules and regulations pertaining to storeroom procedures, equipment, and handling of hazardous materials; train and supervise the work of subordinates; conduct site inspection for water leaks, mold, vermin, and other contaminants; and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and issue or release equipment, materials, records, and supplies from a stockroom and/or warehouse facility
• Perform inventory control and assist in the development and maintenance of a computerized inventory system
• Liaise with vendors to resolve problems with items received or vendor payment
• Assist with keeping store's cost allocations and preparing budget estimates
• Prepare reports
• Supervise adherence to safety rules and regulations pertaining to storeroom procedures, equipment, and handling of hazardous materials
• Train and supervise the work of subordinates
• Conduct site inspections for water leaks, mold, vermin, and other contaminants

Requirements

• One year of full-time inventory control experience in which your PRIMARY responsibility was receiving, storing, and issuing or releasing equipment, materials, records, and supplies from a stockroom and/or warehouse facility
• Qualifying experience MUST include numerical or computerized inventory control

Physical demands

• Perform physical tasks including stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, climbing, and walking in a stockroom/warehouse setting
• Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Climb inclined ladders to store materials
• Drive various vehicles on a daily basis

Schedule

May be required to work nights or unusual shifts for which 5% additional pay may be received.

License

A valid California Class C Driver License may be required at the time of hire.
