Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About the Role
As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity, helping neighbors with tasks like selecting the perfect toy, comparing pet food ingredients, fitting pets with harnesses, educating customers on pet ownership, stocking shelves, and ringing up purchases. You’ll also care for in-store pets by feeding them and maintaining their habitats while engaging with neighbors and maintaining a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Process neighbors’ purchases with accuracy and efficiency, including providing Preferred Pet Club membership information.
- Safely unload delivery trucks, stock shelves, and carry purchases (e.g., bags of kibble, cat litter, aquariums) to neighbors’ cars.
- Provide care for in-store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
- Answer neighbors’ questions about animal care to help them find or maintain the perfect pet.
- Support team members by acting as backup when extra help is needed.
- Stay knowledgeable about animals and products to provide outstanding service.
The role can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and be 16 years or older.
