Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About the Role
As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity, helping neighbors with pet-related needs while engaging with them and maintaining a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Assist neighbors in selecting the perfect pet products, such as toys, food, and harnesses.
- Compare ingredient labels and educate customers on pet care and ownership.
- Stock shelves, ring up purchases, and carry heavy items (e.g., bags of kibble, cat litter, aquariums) to customers’ cars.
- Provide care for in-store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
- Specialize in areas such as cashiering, stocking, or pet care as needed.
- Process transactions accurately and promote the Preferred Pet Club membership.
- Act as backup support for team members when extra help is needed.
Requirements
- Be knowledgeable about animals and pet products to provide outstanding service.
- Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and be at least 16 years old.
- Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting 40-65 lbs. and standing for long periods.
