Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About the Role
As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity, helping neighbors with tasks like selecting the perfect toy, comparing pet food ingredients, fitting pets with harnesses, educating customers on pet ownership, stocking shelves, and ringing up purchases—all while engaging with neighbors and maintaining a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Process neighbors’ purchases with accuracy and efficiency as a Cashier, including providing Preferred Pet Club membership information.
- Safely unload delivery trucks, stock shelves, and assist neighbors by carrying purchases to their cars as a Stocker.
- Provide care for in-store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals, while answering neighbors’ questions on animal care as a Pet Care specialist.
- Act as backup support when extra help is needed across store tasks.
- Educate neighbors on products and animal care to deliver outstanding service.
The role can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods.
Requirements
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and be 16 years or older.
- Knowledgeable about animals and products to provide exceptional service.
