Store Team Member (Cashier, Stocker, Animal Care)
About the role
As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity, helping neighbors with tasks such as:
- Selecting the perfect toy for a terrier that likes to chew
- Reviewing and comparing ingredient labels of several food brands for a concerned cat parent
- Fitting a squirming dachshund with the perfect harness
- Educating a sixth grader on bird ownership
- Stocking shelves and ringing up neighbors’ purchases
- Feeding pets and ensuring their cages are clean and well-maintained
- Engaging with neighbors and maintaining a positive attitude
The role can be physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and standing for long periods of time. You may specialize in one of the following areas:
Responsibilities
- Cashier
- Processing neighbors’ purchases with accuracy and efficiency
- Providing Preferred Pet Club membership information to ensure neighbors don’t miss any offers
- Stocker
- Safely unloading delivery trucks using proper equipment
- Stocking shelves to ensure products are always available
- Carrying purchases such as bags of kibble, cat litter, or aquariums to neighbors’ cars
- Pet Care
- Providing care for in-store pets, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals
- Answering neighbors’ questions on animal care to help them find or maintain the perfect pet
Requirements
- Support team members by acting as backup when extra help is needed
- Be knowledgeable about animals and products to provide outstanding service
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Pass a drug screening (in applicable states)
- Be at least 16 years old

Pay
USD $15.00–$16.00 per hour
