About the Role
The Store Supervisor assists the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in all aspects of store operations, including financial performance, personnel management, front-end cash register operations, floor and visual processes, loss prevention, and enforcing company policies. The role involves cross-training in Processing, Cashiering, Sales Floor, and Visual Merchandising to ensure store expectations are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage collections to ensure proper processing and separation of incoming donations.
- Implement Kaizen system practices for sorting, preparing, and pricing items for sale to maximize used goods processing.
- Meet or exceed production goals and ensure maximum sales performance through weekly merchandise rotation.
- Open and close the store, make bank deposits, tally cash registers, and generate daily, weekly, and monthly store reports.
- Maintain accurate records and generate employee schedules.
- Ensure stockroom production of textiles and hard goods meets goals while minimizing waste.
- Train and cross-train all store personnel to perform store functions efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service, greet customers, and maintain a courteous environment for shoppers, donors, and staff.
- Manage all store employees and maintain a clean, orderly processing area and work environment.
- Perform cleaning duties in all store areas, including restrooms, as needed.
- Manage store budget effectively, achieving processing goals, generating revenue, and controlling expenses.
- Ensure store audits achieve a 90% passing score or greater and take corrective actions for deficiencies.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free stockroom and ensure staff follow loss prevention procedures.
- Report, investigate, and correct loss prevention matters promptly and ensure proper operation of security systems.
- Complete bank deposits, refunds, and incident reports accurately and promptly.
- Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, selecting, promoting, disciplining, or separating employees.
- Document personnel issues and make recommendations for further actions.
- Oversee all store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Maintain an efficient workforce through proper hiring, retention, training, and leadership.
- Communicate store reports, personnel status changes, and rehabilitation information accurately and timely.
- Train new staff and provide ongoing training to all employees to develop a standard of excellence.
