About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and performance of retail staff. This role utilizes GameStop's business model to foster a positive shopping environment and drive sales.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional guest service
- Manage and lead a multiunit store operation
- Support the shopping environment, including visual merchandising and sales initiatives
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately and efficiently
- Recruit, interview, hire, assess, and retain associates
- Schedule and supervise staff to ensure optimal guest service
- Ensure store cleanliness and organize merchandise
- Count and reconcile daily business transactions, handle inventory, and manage shipping
- Report injuries and maintain store records
- Work collaboratively with military personnel on military bases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred
- At least 1 year of retail management experience
- At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred
- Video game knowledge preferred
