About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and accurate guest service
- Develop and promote a sales culture by sharing product knowledge and fostering guest loyalty
- Build and maintain a clean, organized shopping environment
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain high-performing associates
- Schedule and supervise staff to ensure optimal guest service
- Ensure store compliance with policies and procedures, including inventory control and loss prevention
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions, and handle defective merchandise and recalls
- Lead store team in achieving sales and profit targets
- Work independently and as part of a team to perform all tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 1 year of retail management experience required; 3 years preferred
- Video game knowledge preferred
- Outgoing personality with strong people skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in person and on the phone
- Ability to work independently and as a team leader
- Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills
- Reliable and trustworthy, able to work alone and under pressure
- Ability to stand and move throughout the store for up to 12 hours per day
